Over the past few decades, North America has seen traditional civic engagement undergo significant shifts, with voter turnout rates plummeting and other forms of civic participation also declining, including volunteerism. In the last year and a half however, the world watched as the United States reacted to a divisive Presidential campaign with an unprecedented surge in civic activities like political demonstrations, marches and donations to non-profits and charities. This research was undertaken to confirm if any changes were also seen in volunteer behaviour.
